Completed in 2022. Amazon SAX2 Fullfillment Center earned an ABC SoCal Excellence in Construction Award. SAX 2 transformed an existing warehouse into a highly advanced robotics-driven fulfillment facility. The fast-paced renovation tenant improvement and modernization project included comprehensive interior upgrades, exterior building and site improvements, parking lot enhancements, and the installation of two 300KW/375KVA diesel generators to support critical operations. Despite environmental delays, evolving engineering requirements, and demanding milestone schedules, ALBD Electric & Cable successfully navigated the project’s complexities through collaboration, adaptability, and a solutions-focused approach.
Project Features:
- Proper Safe-off for the safe modification and improvement of an existing vacant warehouse.
- Electrical modification and installation of infrastructure, transformers, switchgear, service, distribution, panels, disconnects, wiring, devices, and circuitry necessary for a new, state-of-the-art fulfillment facility complete with entry area, dedicated lobby, security area, lobby and remote restrooms, mother’s room, breakroom, control rooms, utility room, maintenance room, and sorting area.
- Upgraded electrical service to accommodate tenant improvement requirements per plans.
- Provide non-simultaneous / redundant load to SDEN MDF.
- Provide (2) 300KW/375KVA 480/277V, 3-phase Diesel Generators with (2) 400amp services at MDF 1 and MDF 2.
- Install low voltage and telecom backboard.
- Supply & install all electrical conduit, conductors, wiring, devices, and general material.
- Supply & install all interior high efficiency lighting throughout the premises.
- Modify, supply, and/or install all underground infrastructure for exterior electrical systems including all conduit, circuits, wall packs, site lighting, light pole bases and light poles.
- Supply & install lighting controls & commissioning for a fully functioning robust system.
