JOB SUMMARY:
The Electrical Lead Estimator collaborates with the department team to determine project costs and potential profitability for commercial and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, thrives on securing profitable work, and demonstrates teamwork, creativity, and a drive for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate as a team player to support company profit and growth.
- Communicate effectively with office personnel, engineers, architects, general contractors, customers, and team members.
- Analyze Electrical Drawings, project plans, and specifications to create comprehensive estimates.
- Prepare detailed take-offs for materials, labor, equipment, time, and miscellaneous costs.
- Estimate projects ranging from $10K to $10M in electrical scope.
- Solicit and qualify pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and client/design professional collaborations.
- Respond to vendor and client bid inquiries.
- Organize and file bid documents.
- Lead and mentor estimators and junior estimators.
- Review RFQ/RFP documents for subcontractor/vendor solicitations.
- Enforce compliance with laws, regulations, and safety standards, reporting variances to the Division Manager.
- May attend project hand-off meetings.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in electrical contracting.
- 3+ years of experience with Accubid.
- 2+ years of Accubid LiveCount experience.
- Proficiency in Architectural, MEP Drawings, and Specifications.
- Experience with Electrical Estimating software, Bluebeam, Excel, and Building Connected.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $115,000
- Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Voluntary Insurance, and 401K with 4% match
